Play date

Bode had his first play date this morning and it was a success! His friend Hunter from daycare came over this morning. It was Hunter's first play date too, so his mom came with. His mom who I have only seen in passing at Gloria's. Hunter and Bode played great, Hunter's sister Reece slept in the crib downstairs and Hunter's mom and I just chatted the whole time.

And now...

Sick

I have been sick most of the week. It started last Saturday with a sore throat and turned into a cold/sinus thing accompanied by headaches. I stayed home Monday, worked Tues-Thurs and am home again today. Stew started feeling sick a few days later as well. Hopefully we are feeling better for the weekend, we have been pretty pathetic this week and it would be nice to perk up and have a little fun!

Long term

I have been subbing now for about 3 weeks. It has been hit or miss as far as the classrooms I've been in. Also, in 3 weeks, I have worked 10 out of 15 days. So, luckily I got a call from one of the good placements I had and the teacher is having surgery and they need a long term sub from March 2nd-May 1st. 8 weeks at the same job, same kids, and knowing where I am heading each day. I will be doing 5th grade at Capitol View in Des Moines. I am hoping more teaching, less babysitting. Good news!

Much needed

We had a much needed fun weekend. I was supposed to sub in the same 5th grade class on Friday, but ending up canceling the job, I had to do it for a grade when I was student teaching, I don't have to do it now! I ended up with Friday off, which was fine with me after 3 days with that class. So I got a few things done around the house and then Stew's parents came Friday night for the weekend. My parents and Grandma are coming today, so we have even more fun to come!

Icky

I just feel icky. I have been subbing for the 5th grade class I student taught for this week and they have been AWFUL for me! Also I had a bit of a falling out with a friend. Bode said he's been missing me since I've been working and I feel like Stew and I have been seeing each other in passing. Not a great week. I am really ready for the weekend.

Fun weekend

We had a pretty fun weekend. My girlfriends from ISU were all here. So great to catch up with everyone. We went to a chick flick on Saturday afternoon and then out that night. It was nice to have a little warm up as well. We walked up to the park today and Bode rode his scooter on the tennis courts for awhile. We are going to make some popcorn and watch a movie to close down the weekend.

Back in action

Started subbing...finally! I had a preschool job yesterday and 5th grade today, very different, both good. I have some jobs lined up for next week and am happy to be teaching again. Have a fun girls weekend planned with some of my BFF's from ISU + more new friends. Stew may take Bode to a ISU game, so we should have a fun weekend. He got switched to M-Th instead of Tues-Fri, we are glad he will no be free Friday nights. Back to reality this week, a little structure is nice after the past couple months.
